Frequently Asked Questions
Your Card will be converted to an American Express Platinum Credit Card because the American Express Green Card product will be discontinued. The conversion of your Card will ensure that you will continue to have access to American Express privileges. Click here to stay up to date with the latest benefits of your new Card.
Note that your Card must be active and of good credit standing with no past due obligation. Otherwise, your American Express Green Card will be cancelled on May 7, 2024 with no replacement.
Not opting out of the conversion means that you are giving BDO your consent to proceed with the conversion of your Card.
Any outstanding balance on your American Express Green Card will continue to be billed until fully paid. All remaining amortizations from your installment transactions will be transferred to the USD account of your new American Express Platinum Credit Card in June 2024. For installment transactions with payment billing holiday, merchant’s name will change to BNPL FR CONVERTED CARD once transferred to your new Card.
Your latest rewards points balance will be automatically transferred to the USD account of your new American Express Platinum Credit Card in August 2024.
Yes, you may continue to use your American Express Green Card until July 31, 2024, while waiting for the delivery of your new Card. This will also apply to your Supplementary Cards, if any.
If you do not receive your new American Express Platinum Credit Card by June 2024, you may request for card re-delivery by clicking here.
- All payment arrangements previously enrolled through BDO will automatically be re-enrolled to your new Card (e.g. Utility payments via Auto-Charge, Automatic Debit Arrangement (ADA)).
- For payment arrangements enrolled directly through specific merchant/s (e.g. Utility Bills, Insurance, Subscriptions, etc.), please enroll your new card number to the merchant/s to avoid service interruption.
You need to enroll your new Card:
- If you are using the web-based BDO Online Banking, select Enrollment > Own Account > Enroll > Select Currency > Choose Credit Card under Account Type > Enter Account Number.
- If you are using the BDO Digital Banking app, select More > Enrollment Services > Enroll Own Account > Enter Account Number > Choose Credit Card under Account Type.
You don’t need to enroll your new Card if you are using the new BDO Online app. It will automatically appear in your list of accounts.
- Your American Express Green Card and any Supplementary Cards will be cancelled on May 7, 2024.Â
- You will NOT receive any replacement cards.
- All payment arrangements will be cancelled. Â
- Any outstanding balance on your American Express Green Card, including remaining installment transactions, will continue to be billed and must be settled.
- You can redeem your Membership Rewards Points until August 29, 2024. All remaining unredeemed points after said date will be forfeited. To redeem your points, go to the Membership Rewards Catalogue, choose your reward and completely fill out and submit the online redemption form. You may also call the BDO Contact Center at (+632) 8888-0000 or visit a BDO branch near you.
Activate and use your new American Express Platinum Credit Card as soon as you receive it to start enjoying your new Card’s benefits and privileges. Please remember that your American Express Green Card and any Supplementary Cards will automatically be cancelled on August 1, 2024.Â
Once cancelled, please properly dispose of your Card and any Supplementary Cards by cutting all the Card details (card number, expiry date, 4CSC, and CVV) and chip before disposal.

- Existing Supplementary Cards - All existing and active Supplementary Cards linked to your account will also be converted and will be processed automatically together with your Basic Card account.
- Outstanding Balances from Straight Transactions – All card balances will continue to be billed and will reflect on your American Express Green Card’s statement of account until fully paid.

- 4CSC – 4-digit code found in front of your Card used in online straight transactions
- CVV – 3-digit code found at the back of your Card used for online Buy Now, Pay Later or installment transactions
- Credit Limit – BDO will re-evaluate your account and assign a credit limit for your Card

- Outstanding Balances from Installment Transactions – Installment transactions will be transferred to the USD billing of your new American Express Platinum Credit Card
- Due date – 25 days from statement date
