BDO Earns Recognition from Bangko Sentral
BDO Unibank, Inc. (BDO) has received major citations at the recently held Stakeholders' Awards of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
BDO was named the Commercial Bank that Generated the Largest Overseas Filipino (OF) Remittances, an award it has won for three consecutive years -- 2008, 2009 and 2010.
The said award recognizes the role of commercial banks in facilitating the inflow of OF remittances. It is bestowed to the top commercial banks that have generated the highest volume of cash remittances from OF and respondent commercial banks for their timely and accurate submission of bank reports to the BSP.
BDO was likewise named the Outstanding PhilPaSS Participant Servicing Customer e-Payments-Commercial Bank. The monetary authority recognized the Bank’s remarkable performance "in terms of volume, frequency and value of remittances and Customer ePayments transactions sent to Philippine Payments and Settlements System (PhilPaSS) for processing and settlement".
"Developments in the external front have made monetary policy more challenging but the BSP could not have properly calibrated its policies without the comprehensive and timely information that you have provided throughout the years," said BSP governor Amando M. Tetangco Jr., who led the awarding ceremony that carried the theme "Forging Stronger Alliances, Propelling Sustainable Growth".
