What is the BDO Pay app?
Unlike other e-wallets, BDO Pay is linked to your BDO savings account or credit card, making payments more straightforward and easier!
 
 
How do I sign up for the BDO Pay app?

You’ll first need a BDO Account or Credit Card, and you’ll need to have a BDO Online Banking account.  

 

If you do not have a BDO Account or Credit  Card yet, you can get a BDO Pay Account: 

 

  1. Download the BDO Pay app from Google Play Store, App Store, or Huawei AppGallery
  2. Open the BDO Pay app and choose I want to open a BDO Pay Account 
  3. Tap Apply Now and fill out the application form.
  4. Once your application has been approved, open the app again and choose I have a BDO Online Banking Account. 
  5. Sign up with your Online Banking account username and password, and go through the set-up steps. 

 

If you already have Online Banking, follow these steps to sign up: 

 

  1. Download BDO Pay app from Google Play Store, App Store, or Huawei AppGallery.
  2. Open BDO Pay and sign up with your BDO Online Banking username and password. 
  3. Choose which BDO accounts you want to link to the BDO Pay app, then choose your default account.
  4. Enter a 6-digit PIN or use your device biometrics to log in and confirm transactions. 
  5. Log in and start using the BDO Pay app! 

 

If you are an existing BDO customer without Online Banking, follow these steps to sign up: 

 

  1. Sign up for Online Banking by visiting online.bdo.com.ph > Not yet enrolled? Enroll Now! 
  2. After 48 hours, download the BDO Pay app and sign up with your Online Banking username and password.
  3. Choose which BDO accounts and credit cards you want to link to the BDO Pay app, then choose your default account.
  4. Enter a 6-digit PIN or use your device biometrics to log in and confirm transactions. 
  5. Log in and start using the BDO Pay app!

What are the benefits of getting a BDO Pay tent card?
The BDO Pay tent card makes it easy for you to receive cashless payments from your customers. With it, your customers will be able to easily scan your shop’s QR to make a payment using their mobile phone!
 
 
What are the service fees for using the BDO Pay tent card?
Getting the BDO Pay QR tent card is completely free of charge.
 
 
How much do I have to pay for a BDO Pay tent card?
As long as you submit your details and QR code on or before August 31, 2023, your tent card is completely free.

You’ll just need to provide the following:

  • Your BDO Pay QR (which you can generate through the BDO Pay app for FREE) 

 

 

 
Will my business appear on the BDO Pay merchant directory?
Right now, only customers who use their BDO Savings Account, BDO Checking Account, or BDO Pay Account as their source account will be able to scan your BDO Pay QR. This won’t work for customers who have only their BDO Credit Card linked to their app.

We’re working on making it possible for all customers (even those with other mobile wallets) to pay via BDO Pay QR.

 

 

Creating and using your BDO Pay QR

 
How do I generate a BDO Pay QR for my business?

There are two kinds of BDO Pay QRs you can generate: With Amount and Without Amount. 

 

With Amount 

If your products or service have the same, fixed price; a QR With Amount would be best.  To generate this kind of QR, follow these steps: 

  1. Open the app and at the bottom of your home screen, tap Request > Request via QR 
  2. To generate a QR with a fixed amount, select With Amount 
  3. Enter the amount that will automatically appear once your QR is scanned 
  4. Enter the Account Nickname*
  5. Select which linked account you want your payments to go to, and then tap Generate QR 
  6. Save the QR image to your phone 

 

Without Amount 

If your customers need to pay you different amounts, generate a QR Without Amount. Here’s how: 

  1. Open the app and at the bottom of your home screen, tap Request > Request via QR 
  2. To generate a QR with a fixed amount, select Without Amount 
  3. Enter the Account Nickname*
  4. Select which linked account you want your payments to go to, and then tap Generate QR 
  5. Save your QR image to your phone  

*The Account Nickname you enter will be the name that appears on your tent card  

 

 
 
How do I get paid via the BDO Pay QR?

To start accepting payments through your BDO Pay QR, follow these steps: 

  1. Once you receive your BDO Pay QR tent card, display it where your customers can easily see it 
  2. When your customer has to pay, all they need to do is open their BDO Pay app and scan your QR. Once scanned, their app will automatically lead to the Send Money screen. 
  3. Your customer enters the amount to pay (if needed) and which account to pay from, and taps Send 

Once they tap Send, the money goes straight to the BDO account you linked to the QR. 

 

 
 
Will my customers’ payments reflect in my account in real-time?
Yes, you will be able to see the payment in your account in real-time.
 
 
In case my customer is unable to scan my QR tent card, what should I do?

 

  • Make sure your QR is placed in a well-lit area where it can be clearly read by their QR scanner
  • If this still doesn’t work, customers can simply opt to pay via contact by sending to your registered mobile number.  

 

 
 
My customer received a failed transaction notification. Should we try again?
First, check to see if you or your customer has received a transaction confirmation email, and if your account balances have changed. If you didn’t receive any transaction confirmation email, and the balances remain the same, try again.

How do I check if the payment went through?
No, but you’ll be notified through push notification and email. You can also check by tapping the notification bell in the upper right corner of the BDO Pay home screen, or by viewing your transaction history.

You can easily view your transactions in-app by going to the home screen, then tapping the card of the account linked to your QR code.

 
 
How do I get a copy of my transaction history?

To get a copy of your transaction history, follow these steps:

  1. Open your BDO Pay app and tap the card of the account linked to your QR code 
  2. On the transaction history screen, tap the three dots in the upper right corner 
  3. Tap Download Transactions List, then select where you’d like to send a PDF copy of your transaction history.  

 

 
 
Will my customers be receiving an SMS notification for the QR payment?
No, but they’ll see a ‘success’ screen if the transaction went through. They will receive an email confirmation, and can view their transaction history.
 
 
Can my customers cancel a transaction?
No, but if you’re nice, just send the money back!
 
 
What if I want to change the QR code on my tent card?
We’re allocating only one tent card per business owner. If you want to change your tent card’s QR code, you can generate a new one through the app, print it, and stick it onto the tent card we’ve provided.

The recommended print size is 2.5 x 2.5 inches.
