BDO Unibank, Inc. (BDO) is set to further widen its reach to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) around the world following a partnership agreement with global payment system provider Eurogiro, a global payments community that facilitates cross border payments among its member companies worldwide. 

BDO, named as the Top Commercial bank in Generating Remittances from Overseas Filipinos by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) for several years since 2008, continuously expands its presence abroad to reach out to more Filipinos overseas.  

Eurogiro is a payments network that connects different organizations and espouses business ventures among its members consisting of 60 posts, banks and other financial institutions around the world.  It allows BDO to explore business opportunities with other Eurogiro members that share a common goal of providing broader payment solutions for their clients around the world.  BDO may then tap other Eurogiro members that have presence in countries with large OFW population so that they will have wider choice on their remittance services.

Apart from stronger global presence, Eurogiro likewise opens a wide range of new opportunities for BDO as the former provides a single payments system for all its members resulting in operational efficiency and speedy settlement. BDO may likewise draw insights through reciprocal exchange of tested best practices and strategies in payment solutions from other Eurogiro members. 

On the other hand, BDO's co-members in the Eurogiro community may benefit from the Bank's wide network of Filipino clients.  In 2013, BDO received another citation from the BSP for being a Hall of Fame awardee also in the category of the Top Commercial Bank in Generating Remittances from Overseas Filipinos, an accolade BDO has won for three consecutive years – 2008, 2009 and 2010.
