BDO’s leaders honored as BizNewsAsia’s Nation Builders

2018 December – BDO Unibank’s top leaders have been named Nation Builders by BizNewsAsia, the largest business and news magazine in the Philippines.

 

Teresita Sy-Coson, chairperson, Nestor V. Tan, president and chief executive officer; and Eduardo V. Francisco, president of BDO Capital & Investment Corporation and chairman of BDO Nomura, were awarded for their “excellence or exceptional achievements in strategic management and visioning, entrepreneurship, general management, and green entrepreneurship.”

 

Ms. Coson is recognized not only for her leadership in the country’s largest bank, but also in SM Investment Corporation (SMIC) and SM Prime Holdings where she is the vice chairperson and adviser to the board, respectively. BDO, SMIC, and SM Prime are noted as “undisputed profit-makers, market leaders, and disrupters.”

A total of 37 outstanding entrepreneurs and government officials were named Nation Builders, including Ramon S. Ang, vice chairman, president, and chief operating officer of San Miguel Corporation; John Gokongwei Jr., chairman emeritus of JG Summit, Inc.; and Jose Sio, chairman of SMIC. From the government sector, President Rodrigo Duterte and former presidents Fidel V. Ramos, Joseph Ejercito Estrada, and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo were honored.

 

BizNewsAsia, a weekly publication, has a pass-on circulation of 350,000 readers. It distributed a special anniversary issue featuring the success stories of its awardees.
