Quake-hit Masbate receives aid from BDO Foundation

2020 October – BDO Foundation continues to fulfill its disaster response advocacy despite a pandemic. In partnership with the St. Vincent Ferrer Parish Church and the local government unit, the foundation donated relief goods to earthquake-stricken residents of Cataingan in Masbate.

The corporate social responsibility arm of BDO Unibank distributed relief packs containing food, noodles and rice to 650 families in 26 barangays. The initiative is in line with BDO Foundation’s commitment to provide aid in communities hit by natural or man-made disasters. As a follow through to its relief work, the foundation implements long-term rehabilitation and reconstruction programs in affected areas.

A magnitude 6.6 tectonic earthquake and a series of aftershocks jolted the municipality of Cataingan in the province of Masbate, damaging homes, buildings and infrastructure.
