Corporate Governance Asia awards BDO
BDO UNIBANK, Inc. (BDO) and its key officers were recognized in the recently concluded 4th Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2014 by Hong Kong-based publication Corporate Governance Asia.
Individual awards were given to Teresita Sy-Coson, Pedro M. Florescio III and Luis S. Reyes Jr. as one of Asia's Best CEOs, CFOs and Investor Relations Professionals, respectively. Sy-Coson is the chairperson of BDO, Florescio is EVP and treasurer, and Reyes is SVP and head of investor relations and corporate planning.
The Bank, meanwhile, was cited as one of the Philippine companies with the Best Corporate Communications Team, CSR and Investor Relations.
BDO has been a consistent recipient of the Asian Excellence Awards which annually recognize the achievements and excellence in management acumen, financial performance, corporate social responsibility, environmental practices and investor relations.
These awards are in the tradition of the high standards set and uphold by Corporate Governance Asia, the authoritative voice in corporate governance practices in the region. These honors are meant to inspire excellence among the different layers in corporate hierarchy, especially now that Asia continued to gain further recognition in the global arena as a favored investment destination in view of its robust economic growth.
